Harajuku 2006...

Yup Harajuku has been on my radar nearly every week...of course! Where else is there better to be right!? So...after raiding BBC/icecream (just for you prez...gotta stay in touch with Skateboard P right!?) and bape EVERY week, along with Neighborhood, Visvim (every week still feels like a pilgrimage), HP (I will have the whole Polka dot coolection by the time I leave JP), Soph (they are gonna gun me down the next time I go there) and a whole bunch of other stores...dare I say it...Urahara is losing its appeal...

But the fact that I feel invisible every time I go there pulls me there again and again...

Milky Way festival...

Thats right..the time has come again for the Milky Way festival in Hiratsuka..."all the freaks" as Julez describes them i.e. kids in New era caps and sunglasses (even at night) come out to play in the area. So for those wondering back home, nope its nothing to do with the sticky chocolate from the uk, its the actual celebration of being able to see the Milky Way in Japan..ok so the weather is not good so we couldnt see it...in fact you can never usually see it as it is the rainy season. Ok so this festival is COMPLETELY pointless but still the people love it, everyone get their Yukatas out (summer type kimono) and screaming over excited kids (including david) eat loads of japanese sweets and random food. make any sense? no? good!

So Michiyo took part in a speech contest at her Uni and came third...although due to politcs I reckon she should have come second! ahhh well...such is life...her prize? A cup and a ticket for Disney land! yay!

Yup Japan is hot...yup its about 25-30 degrees although I shouldnt moan as i have heard that the uk and taiwan are hotter. Still my fan is currently rotating in my room at least 12 hours a day...I have been lazy in updating in my blog too...ahhh these hazy lazy days of summer!

Okiniomi

So I went out for Okiniomi with Michiyo and Kobayashi-san at this nearby restraunt. I had always remarked to Michiyo before that it seemed rather Yo-Yo as in many a night I would see many new era wearing, baggy shorted kid walk in there. However Kobaysahi-san confirmed it was a good place to fill ones stomach so away we went.

I tried the cows tongue but I had to admit I draw the line at pigs brains...noooooooooo way. Still it was a very cool place to hang out and eat and drink, I asked Kobaysahi-san at one point should we leave as it was getting late, he advied no probs as it was a "real" local place. RESPECT.

So a big thanks to Kobayashi-san for dinner...next time its on me!

Well yup LOTR was on the other night...I have had many a sleepless?lately due to the hot weather...but once this baby came on tv there was no turning back. Who needs sleep right!? This film still profoundly effects me...lets hope its on again when the big S visits!
